Katie Mihalek's (she/her) poems appear in Frontier, TIMBER, Sheila-Na-Gig, Spectrum, Beyond Words, and others. She is the author of Aurora Uteralis, a chapbook from Finishing Line Press.

 

Mihalek's writing fuses inspiration from art and science to explore intersects between body, environment, and human connection. Her latest inspiration draws from delving into body organ systems as an extended metaphor across and within poems, often playing with form and unexpected pairings of imagery and interdisciplinary language. 

 

 She holds an M.S. in Medical Sciences from Boston University and an MFA in Creative Writing at Emerson College. She has received support from the Kenyon Review Writers Workshop and the Southampton Writers Conference. Her editorial work includes having served as the Editor-in-Chief for Redivider. She lives in Somerville, Massachusetts.
